Ashley was fussy (with cutting 5 teeth at once, I can honestly say that I don't blame her), so I went ahead and took her upstairs to give her a bath and get her ready for bed. We got pajamas on and it was barely 8:00, so I thought I would close the bedroom door (to avoid any stair activity) and let her play in the floor for a little while, hoping that this would wear her out since she showed no signs of going to bed without a good fight. So... I'm watching TV with one eye and her with the other while she's playing. She kept going over to the side of my bed where I have big pillows with shams, that go on my bed when it's actually made, piled in the floor. She would pull up on the side of the bed, then fall down onto the pillows. I thought, ok, it's really cute and it's not dangerous and she loves it, so why make her stop? I turn and look at the TV because the prison guard was about to shoot Michael Scofield, when no more than two seconds later, I hear a thud followed by the unmistaken sound of liquid hitting carpet. When I looked, I saw that Ashley had grabbed my glass of tea and poured it all over herself, the night table, MY ALARM CLOCK, and the floor. I grabbed her because the feeling of ice-cold liquid all over her scared her and she had started to cry. I ran in there and changed her clothes only to come back to find that the alarm clock (my ONLY alarm clock) was no longer working. This meant that I stayed awake for the majority of the night worrying if I would wake up on time or not. Chet had set an alarm on his cell phone, but never having used it before, we didn't even know if we'd done it right. Ashley slept through the night, but Mama DID NOT.
When we dropped her off this morning at MawMaw's house, she could hardly wait to get out of my arms to go exploring. She loves crawling around, finding every little thing on the floor and putting it into her mouth, pulling up on everything and apparently, she loves it now when Mama leaves! She was so busy this morning, I could barely get a good-bye kiss. She was in the floor playing and I was calling her name to get her to wave bye-bye to me and these were her expressions! "I'm too busy for you Mama. Go on, I'm fine!" If only she could have said it!
