So, I was wrong!

Well, turns out, I was wrong. Ashley's strep culture came back positive, so we're on antibiotics. She doesn't run fever and doesn't act like she feels bad, but I guess if the doctor says that she is, she is.

We want to wish our wonderful Crimson Tide all the luck in the world for the big game this weekend! ROOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLL TIDE ROLL!!!

Sick?????

Well, after all of the drama with having diaper rash from an upset stomach and lots of pooping, rash on the face and fever, going to the doctor and having tests run, I believe that I've come to the miraculous conclusion that Ashley was cutting a tooth-upper left. It's popping through as I write this and I feel like such a fool!

I'm glad that a tooth is all that it probably is, but will await the results of the three tests they are running before I'm 100% sure. :-)

Bigger and bigger!

Though Ashley has a little cold, that hasn't stopped her from growing bigger and bigger! She pulled up yesterday afteroon at Aunt Jenee's house. I didn't have my camera, which is unusual, but I will try to get a picture for everyone soon. She was down, then up...just like that!!!

I'm very proud of my little Punky! :-)

Our prayers go out to Andrew's family

I learned this morning that one of my fellow employees, Bruce Long, lost his son Andrew, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor at 5 years old. After many treatments and surgery, he lost his battle and went to be with the Lord last night. I want to lift his family up in prayer and ask that God continue to be with them during this time as He has carried them every step of the way.

His way is perfect...

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son."

Romans 8:28-29

Let's hear a ROOOOOOLLLLL TIDE ROLL!!!

Ashley and I want to say good luck to the Tide as they venture into what will hopefully be a victory over the Georgia Bulldogs!!! ROOOOOLLLLLLL TIDE ROLL!!!!!

I'm Nine Months Old!!!!

Today, Ashley is nine months old. She is growing up so fast! I can hardly believe that she is now as old as the length of time I carried her! I miss her being so tiny and helpless, but at the same time, it warms my heart to see all of her personality coming to light. I love her so much and want the world for her. She makes me so happy and I'm so thankful that I've been blessed with such a wonderful little girl!

Hey-Pat-a-cake-and a messy, messy cookie!

First and foremost, Ashley would like to give a BIG ROOOOOOLLLLLLL TIDE, ROLL!!!!!! Congrats to Alabama and Coach Saben for a 41-38 victory over Arkansas! Now, they are ranked # 16 - Whooo Hoooo!!!!

It was definitely the hat that helped us win! I was fortunate enough this weekend to obtain from Grandmomie the "original" Bear Bryant hat that belonged to Grandaddy. He bought this back when the Bear was coaching. I also was lucky enough to get his Alabama leather belt that he had made in the Smokies. Ashley will inherit these when I die, but until then, we've got a picture of her in the hat (not that it's hers yet!).

With the game being on late, it proved to be too much for my angel, she was pooped and fell asleep before half-time.
In fact, she slept pretty much every chance she got on Saturday. She was one sleepy girl!

May I introduce to you....Chet, Jr.

Ashley's weekend did not end with the Alabama game, she also has learned a new word. "Hey" is the new favorite word. She also had a good day in church Sunday, while wearing her brand new dress that Grandmommie bought her. Here she is with me and her Aunt Jenee, and playing on the bouncy horse in the nursery.

Sunday afternoon, while I was giving her Daddy a haircut on the back porch, Ashley enjoyed a biter biscuit. She loves them so much, but they are quite messy. Here are some shots of that.

She had her 9-month check-up yesterday and though she did not have to get any shots this time, she screamed as if someone had cut off her leg. She definitely has a set of lungs on her! Dr. Sabens says that she is "small and tall" as she weighs 17 lbs. 11 1/2 oz. and is 28 inches long. He said that she looks "beautiful" and seems to be a "very happy baby" and that her top gums are prominent, which means that she could cut another tooth any day.

She is also saying some variation of "Pat-a-cake" and will clap her hands together. She learned this at Maw-Maw's house yesterday and surprised me by saying it when I picked her up. Of course, only WE know that is what she's saying. The average person would know it as babble. But, again...I think I have a genius on my hands!!! Isn't it a mother's right to brag? ;-)

Finally!!!!

I finally got some pictures of Ashley crawling. She is getting really good at it and loves it when she finally gets the reward of actually picking up what she was after, all by herself. She's quite my little gymnast, as you can see below--Olympics, here we come???

Day with Mam-Mam

Today, Ashley is staying at home with her Mam-Mam (Chet's mom). I'm sure she is having a ball and last I checked, she is right on schedule with sleeping and eating. They were going to go for a walk after lunch. I miss her today, really bad!

Uh-Oh!

Ashley is trying very, very hard to say "uh-oh". All she can manage to get out right now is the "uh" part. She wants to say it really bad and I'm sure she'll get the hang of it in the next few days. We've been practicing the "oh" sound and she can get it when she's jabbering, but putting the two together proves to be a little more difficult for her. But, my little genius will get it in no time!

She really took off crawling last night too. We have video footage, but no picture yet. I'm still trying!

She crawled!!!!

My "Punky" crawled about two feet last night!!! YAY!!!! I don't have a picture of it because she stops doing it when she sees the camera. I'm going to try to get one tonight. We'll see! The first person I told was her Aunt Jenee and then her Mimi. She's been trying so hard. I'm sure before we know it we are going to have a BIG problem with the stairs in the house.

Happy Grandparents Day!

Mama's girl

Ashley has been such a "Mama's Girl" lately. According to my regular baby-sitter, she is "playing me like a drum." Apparently, she's HORRIBLE when she's with her Mommy, but when she's not, "you couldn't ask for a better baby." At home, she won't let me out of her sight, cries, won't go to bed, etc. At the baby-sitter's house, she's totally fine! The nerve of her... that little stinker...LOL!! :0)

She is my baby girl though, and I lover her so much that it actually hurts sometimes. Last night, we had so much fun. She was in my lap, standing while I was holding her and I'd do a backwards kiss into her mouth. (I call this a zerbert, but everyone may not know what that means), in other words, I kinda spat in her mouth, but it's not as gross as it sounds. Turns out, SHE LOVED IT!!! She kept coming back for more with her mouth wide open. Then, she started trying to do it herself. Of course, she gives a lot more slobber than I do!

I think she is getting a lot of practice at kissing though between Jason when she is with Jenee and Jackson when she is with Vickie. They are both full of kisses for Miss Ashley and she gives them right back!!! She has been kissing Jason since she was born. I think they love each other and will be best friends!

Labor Day Weekend

So much to do, so little time!!! Ashley was a very busy girl this weekend. Here are some pics of of her during all of her adventures. She is doing so much so fast:

Here she is taking a bath with her new toys, and don't forget...bubbles!

Here she is in her brand new high-chair---She absolutely loves it. In fact, she'll just sit in it and watch TV too! Thank you Mimi!!!

Here she is eating her first batch of mashed potatoes (she also ate Cream of Wheat on Sunday morning for breakfast). She loved her first "adult" food!

Here is Ashley standing by herself holding onto the couch! She is playing with a spoon and bowl with her Aunt Jenee.

We were talking about her playing with the spoon and I said that she will probably want to start feeding herself soon, Jenee said, "Well, she has to find her mouth with the spoon first." And about that time, what do you know????

She really loves her Aunt Jenee, just look!

Now, isn't that a sweet girl????
