I get it! Roll Tide!

First of all, we want to wish our AWESOME, WONDERFUL, AMAZING Tide luck this weekend as we plan to stomp a muddy hole in the Clemson Tigers! Ashley and I are Nick Chicks!

ROOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL TIDE ROLL!!!!!

On a slightly different, more Ashley-like note (which by the way is what this blog is all about), she has started really talking/jabbering up a storm lately. She is making sounds I didn't even know the human mouth could make. Her latest thing is that she abslutely loves to throw and fetch the ball, just like a little puppy (no pun intended). When she runs to go get it, she yells, "I get it!" It is so adorable. We are still fighting the terrible twos behavior problems, addressed in my last post; however, I think she is beginning to realize that I AM THE BOSS OF HER! We'll see how we progress and I'll update again next week! Below are a couple of pictures I snapped of her watching Wonder Pets. We love Ming-Ming!

Patience is NOT a virtue!

Ashley has been in the "terrible two's" phase for a few months now. She was twenty months old yesterday and has been horrible for about the past three months. She loves the word no; however, she likes to be on the giving end of that one instead of the receiving end. If you tell her not to do something, or to stop doing something, or to get out of something, etc., she will do one (or more) of the following:

1) She will pick up the nearest large, incredibly hard toy that she has and hit you upside the head/face with it while screaming "NO!"

2) Run into the next room and throw herself into the floor and proceed to scream loudly, also while screaming "NO!"

3) Raise her hand and hit you in the face with it while screaming "NO!"

She has also acquired quite a taste for ceramic and/or vinyl tile flooring. This has been made evident by the fact that she loves to lick the floor. What's more, she has picked up a drinking habit - that of drinking her bath water. In addition, she now doesn't like having her body or head bathed, getting her diaper changed, getting dressed or undressed or having her hair brushed.

She can't understand why she can't have a cereal bar (pronounced De De Ba) for every meal and snack of the day and commences to one of the above-referenced states of tantrum when I've told her that she can't. I haven't decided what to do with her quite yet since pitching her out the window isn't an option. I'm sure that with all the wisdom of you mommies out there, someone can clue me in! I welcome any advice or comments!

On a different note, we are very happy that Grandmommie is showing signs of improvement and continue to pray for her. Please do so as well, we love her very much and want to see her back to the way she used to be!

Birthday parties

We had two birthday parties a couple of weeks ago on the same day. Jason turned 3 and my best friend's nephew Haden turned 5. Haden is the youngest child of Stephanie's brother Chris; as you know, he just passed away in June. His birthday party was, in Steph's words, bittersweet.

Jason's get-together was great. Just watching the kids play and fight was so heart-warming. Jason is so adorable, you just don't get much cuter that that! I'm posting some pics of both parties. Enjoy!
