Crawl? or Pull Up? That is the question!

Well, I'm not sure which will happen first. Ashley is on the verge of both. She has learned how to crawl, or shall I say "scoot", but only it's backward not forward. She is trying to pull up as well. She will be on her tummy and grab hold of something. She just hasn't figured out how to get herself up there just yet. I'm sure that it will happen soon. If you stand her up in front of the couch, she will hold on and stay that way. Who knows??? She may just walk before doing either one!!! {:0)~

All by myself!!!

Punky said "Yay!" and clapped her hands at the same time in the car on the way to Maw-Maw's house this morning. It was so adorable. I've been working on that one for a while!!!!

Eight Months!

It is so very hard to believe, but Miss Ashley turned eight months old yesterday (Sunday)! She is getting to be such a big girl. She is wanting to crawl very badly, but all she has managed to accomplish is scooting backwards. She has had a very "clingy" weekend. She hasn't wanted me out of her sight for long.



The mornings are my favorite time, she is so VERY sweet. She never wakes up ill and always greets me with the biggest smile. It warms my heart to think that seeing my ugly face and hair in the mornings doesn't dampen her spirits...I guess "Mama" is always "Mama" no matter what she looks like.

Da-Da, finally!!!

She finally did it!!!! Chet is so happy to hear his baby girl say Da-Da! It happened in the car on the way home Tuesday night. She was sitting in the back in her new "big girl car seat" and all of a sudden, out it came. Chet almost ran off the road he was so excited!



Ashley would like to wish a happy birthday to her cousin, Brent who was 9 yesterday; as well as, a big birthday wish to her Poppee who's celebrating today!

Punky's weight check

Punky went in for a weight check on Monday (6 weeks after her 6-month check-up). She weighed 15 lbs, 15 oz. and was 27 1/2". This means that she gained 1 lb. and 3 oz. and grew 1" in 6 weeks!!! I think that's pretty good! She went through a phase where she was supposed to gain 1/2 to 1 oz. per day but only gained 4 oz. in 4 weeks. This is what prompted the end of breastfeeding and the introduction of formula, which was a horrible transition! She has had to go in for weight checks every 2-6 weeks since that time. She is now in the 25th percentile in weight and the 75th in height. At 6 months, she was in the 10th percentile in weight and the 90th in height. I think she is finally leveling out!

Of course, my Mama says that I looked like a "concentration camp survivor" during my childhood...(check out my uneven mullet!)

Punky wants Mommy

Today was a proud day for me as a mother...When we dropped Ashley off at the baby sitter, she cried and wanted me back. I know that it is not because she doesn't love her "Mawmaw", but it really felt good that she wanted me more!!!

She is my little angel and I love her with all my heart!

She is trying to say "pee-pye" and "puppy" lately. Her Daddy is teaching her puppy and when we get dressed, coming over her head with her clothes, I always say, "Pee-pye!!!". She can already say mama, bye-bye and wave and ba-ba for her bottle. She is just kind of spitting at this point though with the "P" words. She really loves hitting me in the eyes.

But who can resist sweet slobber??

Ashley's weekend

This weekend was SO GREAT!!! Ashley took a nap for me both days (on Saturday, she napped for 3 hours!!). She ate her babyfood good and acts like she really enjoys it now.

She seems very partial to her "dinners", like chicken noodle and macaroni & cheese to name a couple. She prefers her dinners and veggies to fruit. She likes the fruit, but eats the other stuff better...my little angel, she really is mine!!

As you can tell though, meat is her favorite!!!

Milestones up to date

Ashley rolls wherever she wants to go...she rolls across the floor, over bed pillows and even off the bed. Yes, you heard me...We have already had our first "fall" off the bed (7/20/07)!



"Punky" can also hold her own bottle now, this happened on Wednesday, 6/27/07, while she was staying with her Aunt Jenee. She loves to hold it by herself now, I think it makes her feel like a big girl!

Ashley loves to "walk" in her walker.

She is building up her legs and has so much fun. As you can see, she has a ball!

She also has her first two teeth. They came in on 6/15/07-Happy Father's Day, Daddy!!



We had our first swimming expedition on 7/28/07 at our friend, Beth's house. She swam with Cousin Bird and Brent, and her two little buddies, Emma and Abby!
