Happy Halloween!!!!!!

We just want to wish everyone a happy and safe Halloween. Ashley will be going for her first trick or treating excursion tonight with her cousins, Brent and Jason, dressed as a beautiful ballerina. I'll post pictures of her big, cold adventure tomorrow!

Til then, be safe and get lots of candy!!!

How long before Ashley will walk???

First of all, we want to congratulate cousin Brent and his football team for a 22-7 victory over Lineville-they remain UNDEFEATED and are going to the championship!!! We would also like to wish Papa Bud a happy birthday!

Will Ashley be walking soon??? I think so!!! As you can see below, she's pulling up on EVERYTHING and has even stood for a few seconds without holding on to anything. I'm so excited, but at the same time realize that my baby is slowly becoming a little girl...Speaking of, she went for her flu shot today, as well as a weight check. She weighed 18 lbs and 15 oz and was 29" long. So, in six weeks, she gained 1 lb. and 3.5 oz. and grew a whole inch! She is now in the 25th percentile in weight and just above the 50th percentile in height. She's getting to be a big girl!

We want to also congratulate Jimmie Johnson on yet ANOTHER victory in Atlanta yesterday. Here is a picture of Ashley and Jason at our brand new Lowe's store, driving the Jimmie Johnson #48 buggy!

Ashley also had fun in the bathtub with her new Froggy toys that Mimi brought her while she was here. She is saying so many new words: Maw-Maw (her babysitter), TV, love you, baby and puppy. She also finally got the hang of feeding herself finger-foods and actually getting them into her mouth! She got this help from cousin Jason, as they shared cereal/puffs Saturday afternoon.

I know, I know... It's not even Halloween yet and we've got our house decorated for Christmas! That's what we did this weekend because my best friend (the photographer), Stephanie Arnold (stephaniearnoldphotography.com) is coming this Friday night to take our family Christmas photos at our house, so I didn't have a choice... It was exhausting and I'm glad it's over!! Now, all we have left to do is the outside, but we didn't want the neighbors to think we were TOTALLY crazy, so we'll wait 'til Thanksgiving to do that part!

Ashley's first Fall Festival

We had so much fun last night at Punky's first Fall Festival. Our church does it every year and it was a great turn-out last night. There are some pictures below of Ashley (didn't dress her up because I'm not finished with her costume yet) and Jason (Pablo from the Backyardigans). There are no pictures of Brent as he was too busy chasing a little "cheerleader" around. Besides, he's officially "too old to dress up!" Looking back, I think someone had to TELL me I was too old to dress up and go trick-or-treating!

When we got home, Ashley had a dirty diaper, so I cleaned her up and instead of putting another diaper on her, I just let her go au natural because it was almost bath time~isn't she so cute with her little naked butt?? I just couldn't resist these shots!!!

I'm so busy!!!

I think I've officially come to the realization that Ashley is mobile! I know, I know, I should have already known this, but I really don't guess I actually BELIEVED it until last night...

Ashley was fussy (with cutting 5 teeth at once, I can honestly say that I don't blame her), so I went ahead and took her upstairs to give her a bath and get her ready for bed. We got pajamas on and it was barely 8:00, so I thought I would close the bedroom door (to avoid any stair activity) and let her play in the floor for a little while, hoping that this would wear her out since she showed no signs of going to bed without a good fight. So... I'm watching TV with one eye and her with the other while she's playing. She kept going over to the side of my bed where I have big pillows with shams, that go on my bed when it's actually made, piled in the floor. She would pull up on the side of the bed, then fall down onto the pillows. I thought, ok, it's really cute and it's not dangerous and she loves it, so why make her stop? I turn and look at the TV because the prison guard was about to shoot Michael Scofield, when no more than two seconds later, I hear a thud followed by the unmistaken sound of liquid hitting carpet. When I looked, I saw that Ashley had grabbed my glass of tea and poured it all over herself, the night table, MY ALARM CLOCK, and the floor. I grabbed her because the feeling of ice-cold liquid all over her scared her and she had started to cry. I ran in there and changed her clothes only to come back to find that the alarm clock (my ONLY alarm clock) was no longer working. This meant that I stayed awake for the majority of the night worrying if I would wake up on time or not. Chet had set an alarm on his cell phone, but never having used it before, we didn't even know if we'd done it right. Ashley slept through the night, but Mama DID NOT.

When we dropped her off this morning at MawMaw's house, she could hardly wait to get out of my arms to go exploring. She loves crawling around, finding every little thing on the floor and putting it into her mouth, pulling up on everything and apparently, she loves it now when Mama leaves! She was so busy this morning, I could barely get a good-bye kiss. She was in the floor playing and I was calling her name to get her to wave bye-bye to me and these were her expressions! "I'm too busy for you Mama. Go on, I'm fine!" If only she could have said it!

The weekend

Can I get a BIG OLE ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL TIDE??????

Congrats to AL for a 41-17 victory over the TN Vols!!!!!! Ashley and I are SO PROUD of them!!

On other notes from the weekend, Ashley is saying some variance of "Love you!" I'm in such awe of how fast she is learning everything. Soon, she won't be my baby anymore, but my little girl! She also has another tooth that has "officially" popped through-her upper left. She is cruising pretty good now too, pulling up and standing on just about anything she can. She even pulled herself up and stood in front of the front door with just one hand holding on. She will be walking in NO TIME!!!

And the new word is..... "Hello!"

Ok, we're really developing quite the vocabulary these days! Ashley's new word is "Hello"; however, it comes out more like "Whoa, whoa." It's really adorable. She actually associates it with the telephone and also waving her hand. In the picture below, she's holding her toy cell phone in the car and saying the word!

Also, we not only have the teeth that I mentioned the other day, but we also have another top chomper coming in. Top left of the two middle (as previously stated, I have no idea which teeth are what!). She is going to get like 5 or 6 teeth at one time!!! I can't believe it, my baby is growing up SO FAST!!!

Of course, as always, we would like to wish our Crimson Tide luck over the weekend as they take on Ole Miss. ROOOOLLLLLLL TIDE ROLL!!!!!

New chompers!

Ashley has her top two teeth coming in, as well as her bottom left of center (I have no idea what all of our teeth are called). I noticed the one on bottom last night. Her top two have been trying to come in FOREVER. They are finally through the skin, so it's only a matter of time. She has seemed much happier since the top two have gotten through. She is much less fussy.

She is going to be a ballerina for Halloween, I can't wait to see my little princess!!!!!

~Ninny~

I'm not with 100% certainty, but I THINK that Ashley is attempting to say Jenee. I know that she absolutely loves her Aunt Jenee, which is why I think she would say her name so soon. It comes out in the form of "Ninny" rather than Jenee. I know that Jenee is probabaly excited as I know that I was when Brenton called me "Namee!"

Of course, as we do EVERY week, we want to show our Bama Pride and wish them the best of luck with their Homecoming game against the University of Houston. Roooooolllllll Tide Roll!!!

Thank You!

I had Ashley on her changing table yesterday morning and she is usually flailing all around wanting to do anything but get her diaper changed, so I usually hand her something to occupy her hands. I handed her hairbrush to her and when I did, I said "Thank you." She repeated something that sounded like "thank you"; however, when I've tried to get her to say it again, I've been unsuccessful. But, the good news is that she is definitely learning and seems to be very bright! I'm so proud!!!
